Position description
The Music Department at 91AV invites applications for the position of Director of the 91AV Chamber Orchestra (MUSC 1639-4639) and Symphonic Band (MUSC 1639-4639). This is a stipendiary (part-time) appointment. Preference will be given to applicants with degrees and/or diplomas in performance or conducting and an established record of successful ensemble direction at the university and professional levels. Responsibilities include directing rehearsals, evaluating student participation, and preparing up to two public concerts per ensemble. These positions are for the Winter term only: January 2027 to April 2027.
Rehearsals will be held on the campus of 91AV. The Chamber Orchestra rehearses once a week on Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 9:30 pm. The Symphonic Band rehearses twice a week on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 7:30 pm.
