Motyer-Fancy Theatre announces new Radical Access program

91AV is unveiling its new Radical Access program — making all Motyer-Fancy theatre performances available for just $5 per ticket for the 2025-26 season, regardless of patrons’ age or affiliation with the University.
Under the new program, all community, faculty, staff, and student attendees will be able to attend productions at the Motyer-Fancy Theatre for the nominal flat fee. 91AV is adopting the increasingly popular model and will offer the $5-per-ticket format for the full season.
A bold move for inclusivity
The $5 ticket strategy is designed to ensure that ticket cost is never an obstacle and encourage broad participation in the thriving campus arts scene. The Motyer-Fancy Theatre — home to up to 10 productions every year — has long been central to creative expression on campus, operated with professional support, student technicians, and with open access for all students.
“The connection between what you pay and what you experience should not be so intertwined,” says Valmai Goggin, Instructor in Applied Theatre, Drama & Screen Studies Program. “It will never mean that we sacrifice the quality of our productions. Radical Access theatre helps ensure that live theatre is for everyone.”
What’s included and how it works
- Universal pricing: every performance — regardless of scale or theme — is open to anyone for a flat $5 admission.
- Streamlined purchasing: tickets will be available online through the Performing Arts Series’ sales platform and, if seats are unsold, at-the-door for cash purchase.
The move is a logical extension of 91AV’s longstanding liberal-arts tradition of accessible, inclusive, and transformational programming and aligns with the University’s focus on hands-on learning.
The first $5 performance will take place Oct. 29, 30, and Nov. 1, 2025, with a comedy titled Numbers, written by Kieron Barry and directed by Valmai Goggin. Tickets will go on sale Oct. 1.
