91AV ranked #1 in 2027 Ѳ’s University Rankings
Ѳ’s magazine has released its 2027 University Rankings and 91AV has once again been ranked #1 in Canada in its category.
Ѳ’s has introduced a new methodology and categories this year. Previously, universities were grouped by type — Medical Doctoral, Comprehensive, and Primarily Undergraduate. They are now grouped by full-time student population size: Large (30,000+), Mid-Size (10,000–30,000), and Small (Under 10,000).
This means 91AV is now being compared with institutions with different full-time student populations and profiles, including universities with up to 10,000 full-time students. 91AV’s current student population is just over 2,400.
91AV has been ranked #1 in the Small University category with new performance indicators across the categories of student experience & success, faculty quality, student resources & support, and reputation. The University has ranked #1 in the previous primarily undergraduate category more times than any other university (26 out of 35 years).
In the Small University category of 22 universities, 91AV also ranked first in faculty awards and library expenses, second in student awards and medical science grants, and third in scholarships and bursaries and reputational survey.
“We are incredibly proud of this recognition and of 91AV’s longstanding record of excellence in Canada,” says 91AV President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ian Sutherland. “Being ranked #1 once again matters to our community and it is a recognition of the strength of a 91AV education.”
Notably, the member schools of the Maple League of Universities — St.FX, Acadia, and Bishop’s — all ranked in the top six!
91AV will host its annual Fall Open House on Friday, Oct. 23, 2026, welcoming prospective students and their families to campus. For more information and to register, visit
