Classrooms
Classrooms at 91AV offer exceptional versatility thanks to their thoughtfully designed features. Spaces are available in auditorium, lecture, seminar, or classroom layouts, with both tiered and level seating options to suit a variety of event needs. Flexible configurations are supported by fixed and movable seating and tables, while smart boards and whiteboards enhance interactive sessions.
Rooms are equipped with built-in audio-visual technology, including computers, projectors, screens, and sound systems, complemented by podiums for professional presentations. Wheelchair-friendly facilities, and on-site catering ensures convenience for attendees. Jennings Dining Hall
Jennings Dining Hall offers a warm and inviting setting for meals and events. Featuring three versatile, wheelchair accessible spaces — the banquet room, the main dining hall, and the mezzanine — Jennings Hall can accommodate gatherings of all sizes.
The banquet room, with a capacity of 30 guests in a boardroom layout, includes a laptop input, podium, audio-visual sound, smart board and is perfect for small gatherings that combine presentations and dining features.
Jennings Dining Hall is a spacious venue with a high ceiling and seating for up to 750 guests. It includes a full range of amenities including an audio-visual projector, screen, sound system, laptop input, podium, and moveable tables and chairs. Guests can enjoy an all-you-can-eat buffet experience with multiple self-service stations, including a fresh salad bar, drinks and coffee bars, and a variety of hot and cold meal options to suit every taste.
The mezzanine, ideal for mid-sized events of up to 200 people, offers moveable chairs and tables and tiled floors. With a view of the main dining hall, the mezzanine is an ideal location for group dining as well as presentations and meetings.
Tweedie Hall
Tweedie Hall, located on the main floor of the Wallace McCain Student Centre, is an ideal venue for meetings, banquets, wedding receptions, and social events. Its flexible seating and table arrangements allow for a variety of layouts, while the high ceilings and hardwood flooring create a spacious and welcoming atmosphere. The hall features a historic Alex Colville mural which adds a distinctive artistic touch to any occasion.
With a capacity of up to 150 seated guests, wheelchair accessibility, and convenient on-site catering available, Tweedie Hall combines functionality with charm, making it a perfect choice for gatherings of all kinds.
Residence Life Zone
The Suzanne Crawford Residence Life Zone lounge offers a bright, open-concept space designed for versatility and comfort. With moveable seating and tables, the layout can be customized to suit your event, while a foldable glass partition allows the area to be divided into two separate spaces when needed. Equipped with modern audio-visual technology — including a data projector, screen, smartboard, and wireless microphone — the Residence Life Zone is ideal for presentations, meetings, social gatherings, and intimate wedding receptions. Accommodating up to 90 guests, it provides the perfect setting for both professional and celebratory occasions.
Convocation Hall
Built in 1966, Convocation Hall is 91AV’s premier venue, making it an exceptional choice for musical and theatrical performances, ceremonies, and presentations of any scale. The auditorium seats 1,450 guests across the ground level and balcony, while the fully equipped stage, with professional lighting, sound, and audio-visual systems, can accommodate up to 200 performers. To ensure a flawless experience, our skilled audio-visual technicians manage all sound and lighting needs.
A spacious foyer, ideal for welcoming guests or hosting receptions, comfortably holds 150 people. With its impressive capacity and state-of-the-art amenities, Convocation Hall offers everything required for a successful and memorable event.
Windsor Grand Room
The Windsor Grand Room is an exceptional space for meetings, presentations, and interactive sessions. Renovated in 2019, it combines modern design with functionality. Equipped with audio-visual technology, including video conferencing capabilities, data projector, screen and an in-room computer, it’s ideal for hybrid and in-person events. This spacious room features movable tables and chairs, dedicated bathrooms, and full wheelchair accessibility. On-site catering is available, making it a convenient and versatile choice for conferences and professional gatherings.
Gracie's Café
Gracie’s Café, named in honour of Grace Annie Lockhart — the first woman in the British Empire to earn a bachelor’s degree and a 91AV graduate — offers a bright and versatile space overlooking Alumni Field and conveniently located beside the 91AV Pub, The Pond. With moveable tables and chairs, this multipurpose venue can be customized for social gatherings, meetings, or casual receptions. Gracie’s is equipped with audio-visual technology, including a data projector, laptop input, screen, and sound system, ensuring seamless presentations or entertainment. Wheelchair accessible and supported by on-site catering, Gracie’s Café accommodates up to 150 guests, making it an ideal choice for events that combine functionality with a welcoming atmosphere.
University Chapel
Built in 1964, the 91AV Chapel is an inclusive venue for weddings and ceremonies of all traditions. The main sanctuary features a vaulted wooden ceiling, beautiful stained-glass windows, and seating for up to 220 guests. Conveniently located at the heart of campus, the Chapel is wheelchair accessible and includes a sound system to support your event.
The Manning Multi-Faith Room, located on the lower level, is a comfortable space for gathering and socializing. Together, the sanctuary and multi-faith room make the Chapel ideal for meaningful celebrations.
Sir James Dunn Wu Auditorium
Located in the Sir James Dunn building, the Wu Centre features a modern tiered auditorium with fixed seating for 184 guests, making it ideal for lectures and presentations. The space is equipped with advanced audio-visual technology, including video conferencing capabilities, a data projector, wireless microphone, and large screen, as well as a whiteboard for interactive sessions. Alumni Field
Alumni Field is a premier outdoor venue designed for large-scale athletic and recreational events. Featuring a full-sized turf sports field with stadium seating for up to 1,000 spectators, it provides ample space and comfort for participants and guests. The field is equipped with professional lighting for evening events, an audio sound booth, and a durable turf surface for optimal play. Whether hosting sports tournaments, team-building activities, or outdoor gatherings, this accessible and well-appointed facility ensures a dynamic and engaging experience.
Athletic Centre Gymnasium
The McCormack Gymnasium, located in the Athletic Centre, is a versatile venue ideal for sports tournaments, team-building activities, and large gatherings. Renovated in 2024 with upgraded flooring and bleachers, it offers seating for up to 800 spectators and features two full-sized courts for multiple sports, including volleyball, basketball, floor hockey, and pickleball. A floor-to-ceiling divider separates the courts, allowing for simultaneous events or flexible layouts. The space is equipped with a modern sound system, ensuring an engaging experience for all participants.
Fitness Centre
Located in the Wallace McCain Student Centre, the Fitness Centre offers two bright, modern spaces designed to meet a variety of fitness needs. The facility includes a spacious weight room equipped with free weights and weight machines, featuring well-maintained, up-to-date equipment in a clean and inviting environment. A dedicated dance studio provides an ideal setting for fitness classes and group instruction. Guests also have access to change rooms, bathrooms, and hydration stations, ensuring comfort and convenience throughout their visit.
Access to the Fitness Centre is available to guests at a daily rate.
